The PPGA and more

Welcome to the web home of the Piss Poor Golfers Association ... as well as other various thoughts from the Commish. (And don't forget to ask me about making a birdie on No. 15 at Augusta National.)

Happy Festivus!!

With winter here, it's a slow time for the PPGA blog. Although the fact it might get up to 50 on Friday is tempting to get the sticks out. Especially since I have one punch left on my Westview pass.

Anyway, just wanted you all to know I haven't been contacted to take over as the new pro at Westview. As impressive as my golf resume is (what with the 109 at Augusta and that sensational birdie), I told the park district not to bother. It'll be interesting to see who they hire. As long as they're PPGA friendly, like Christensen was, I don't care.

I've had some folks tell me we should put the green jacket up as a prize for the first PPGA Masters at Augusta National in Augusta, Ill. We've always toyed with playing Augusta. This might be our year.

Also, I'd like to get another trip on the docket. I joked around with Mrs. Commish about making a trip to Vegas with the PPGA. She didn't seem to mind, but doubted the rest of you would get similiar clearance. And I'm sure a trip to Vegas would wound some wives' souls. Instead, we should probably aim a little lower, maybe the Ozarks. Another out of towner is a must so that Weast can cheat and win an event as well as give us enough stories to last until our next out-of-towner.

Just felt the need to update the blog so it doesn't get killed.

Happy Festivus, Christmas, Hannukah, Kwanzaa, etc!!
